Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of chaloPlay, covering your use of the service. They double as the rules and user agreement required by Rule 3(1)(a) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. By playing, you accept them.
1. Who may use it
We never ask your age. There is no account to create and nothing to sign up for, because there is nothing we would do with the answer.
We can say that because we store nothing. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 treats everyone under 18 as a child and requires verifiable parental consent before a child's personal data may be processed — and this service keeps none of it: there is no database and nothing is written to disk, so a room and your name live in the server's memory for the game and a short sweep afterwards, and your settings stay in your own browser. There is no store of anyone's data, a child's or an adult's, for an age limit to protect. The Privacy Policy gives the exact minutes.
That is about data, not about suitability, and the two are not the same question. chaloPlay carries a content rating wherever it is published — teenagers and over in most regions, higher in a few — because of the optional duel mode described under Age and children in the Privacy Policy. The rating on the store page you installed from is what tells you whether this game is for you, and where a store enforces that rating, it applies whatever this section says. Below it, a parent or guardian should make the call. We are not in a position to check, and we would rather tell you that plainly than pretend a tick box is a safeguard.
2. What it costs, and what it is not
chaloPlay is free. It takes no payments, holds no deposits, and has no in-app purchases, virtual currency, prizes, rewards or winnings of any kind.
It is an online social game as that term is used in the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025. It is not an online money game: you cannot stake, wager, bet or pay money or anything of monetary value on any outcome, and nothing of monetary value can be won. Although Bluffing? is played with a deck of cards, it is played purely for fun, with no stakes whatsoever. Any attempt to use the service for betting, wagering or gambling is strictly prohibited and will result in removal.
3. Rules of conduct
Other players are real people. You agree not to host, display, upload, transmit or share — including through your display name — anything that:
- belongs to someone else and to which you do not have rights;
- is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, or invasive of another's privacy;
- is defamatory, hateful, racially or ethnically objectionable, or encourages money laundering or gambling;
- harms a child in any way;
- infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- deceives or misleads about its origin, or impersonates another person;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order, or incites any cognisable offence;
- contains a software virus or any code designed to disrupt or damage the service;
- is otherwise unlawful in any manner whatsoever.
You also agree not to:
- harass, threaten or abuse other players;
- cheat, exploit bugs, or use bots, scripts or modified clients to gain an advantage;
- attack or overload the service, or attempt to access parts of it you are not entitled to.
We reserve the right to remove a player or block access if we believe these rules are being broken. In practice the moderation that exists today is the host's: each table's host can remove players from their own room.
4. Your content
The only things you contribute are a display name, a fixed-list emote now and then, and your moves in the game. There is no chat box and no way to send text to another player. You are responsible for the display name you choose, and you grant us permission to show it to the other players in your room — which is the whole point of it.
5. Our content
The games, their code, artwork and sounds are owned by the operator of chaloPlay or used under licence. Third-party components are listed on the licenses page with the terms they are provided under. Except as those licences allow, you may not copy, redistribute, or make derivative works of the service.
6. No guarantee of availability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". Rooms and game state live in memory, so a restart, a deploy or a crash will end games in progress without warning. We do not promise that the service will be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue it at any time without notice.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator of chaloPlay is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or interrupted games, arising out of your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data the service handles and your rights under the DPDP Act. It forms part of these terms.
9. Complaints
To complain about another player, about content on the service, or about anything else, write to our Grievance Officer at rishigupta11.dev@gmail.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days, as the IT Rules 2021 require. Full details are on the Privacy Policy page.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the foot of this page changes when we do, so you can tell when they last moved. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of competent jurisdiction in India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them. If you are a consumer, nothing here deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-law rules, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
